Principles for Minimizing Errors in Examination Papers and Other Educational Assessment Instruments

چکیده
Errors in examination papers and other assessment instruments can compromise fairness. For example, a history question containing an incorrect historical date could be impossible for students to answer. Incorrect instructions at the start of lead answer wrong number questions. As there is little research on this issue within educational community, we reviewed literature minimizing errors industries domains, including aviation, energy, medicine. We identified generalizable principles applied them our context assessment. argue that since instrument construction complex system comprising numerous interacting components, holistic approach improvement required. Assessment stem primarily from human failure. When failure occurs, it not good enough suggest ‘to err simply human’. Instead necessary look deeper, evaluating latent working conditions underpin efficacy procedures, making more or less likely. Drawing aviation industry’s ergonomic SHELLO model, articulate explore three most critical relate context: (i) time pressure, (ii) workload stress, (iii) wider organizational culture, error data collection. conclude with recommendations best practice instruments. A ‘good’ culture should promoted, which avoids blaming individuals. acknowledged readily by all, owners take scientific understanding learning them.

Instrumental Variables Regression with Measurement Errors and Multicollinearity in Instruments
In this paper we obtain a consistent estimator when there exist some measurement errors and multicollinearity in the instrumental variables in a two stage least square estimation of parameters. We investigate the asymptotic distribution of the proposed estimator and discuss its properties using some theoretical proofs and a simulation study. A real numerical application is also provided for mor...

15 صفحه اولEducational Needs Assessment of Mashhad Dentists about Principles of Bonding and Adhesives in Dentistry
Background: many of the problems and composite filling failures are due to dentists' inadequate and passing acquaintance with bonding principles. The aim of this study is to assess dentists' acquaintance with the bonding principles and different adhesive application that are going to be used in educational programs. Methods: in this descriptive and cross-sectional study, a valid and reliable qu...

this study intends to investigate samuel beckett’s waiting for godot and endgame under the lacanian psychoanalysis. it begins by explaining the most important concepts of lacanian psychoanalysis. the beckettian characters are studied regarding their state of unconscious, and not the state of consciousness as is common in most beckett studies. according to lacan, language plays the sole role in ...
Map Projections Minimizing Distance Errors
It is useful to have mathematical criteria for evaluating errors in map projections. The Chebyshev criterion for minimizing rms (root mean square) local scale factor errors for conformal maps has been useful in developing conformal map projections of continents. However, any local error criterion will be minimized ultimately by map projections with multiple interruptions. A disadvantage of inte...
